The child psychologist at Lotus are trained is assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions for the children with behaviour, emotional or cognitive difficulties. The child Psychologist works in various programmes with other treating pediatricians including rehabilitation programme, children with cancer and blood disorder, learning difficulties and children with chronic conditions requiring either prolonged hospitalization or frequent hospital visits. This service is offered both as inpatient and outpatient basis.
The programme provides support for children who experience emotional, cognitive, behavioral, social or educational difficulties within their daily living environments. The staff evaluates patients to identify factors that interfere with the child's performance at home and school. Staff members then design a customized intervention program for the child. The activity of the programme includes psychotherapy, social skills training and individualized academic assistance. Other services include parent training to support child behavior changes, family therapy to help families cope with significant stress, and counseling to help integrate children with chronic illnesses into the school environment.
